ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Car smoking after Sitting

    Hey guys,
When I bought my 90 accord lx about a year back it had not been ran since 2003. So it had been sitting roughly 4 years. It has 179,xxx miles on it. It runs great and does not smoke at an idle but any rpm's from 3k to 5k (havent ran it past 5k) it blows a bit of blue smoke. Not alot but enough to worry me. A friend told me it was just from sitting for so long and that it would loosen up after being ran. Is this the case? Any suggestions on what I should do to "refresh" the motor? or does it just need ran?

    Thanks

go to the parts store or wal-mart and gets some "No-Smoke" or there is another one i think it's called valve free or something like that..... the problem is that while it was sitting the valves and seals all got hard so you need a oil additive that is designed to lubricate the seals and my advice is get in there quickly cuz i had a nissan with the same story and i didn't do anything and eventually the seals had to b completely replaced.... so get to it quick and you might b able to keep from do a valve and seal job

u need to tune ur car up a bit....new plugs and oil change for sure...definately need new gas in it. Be sure to use engine cleaner when u change ur oil cuz after sitting that long u definately have some sludge build up in it. changin ur fuel filter wouldnt hurt either.
