ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

1:20 here as I'm reading this Been up since 7am.
Anyway, yeah... do some research. It's YOUR car, YOUR money, and YOUR needs and desires that this swap has to fulfill. We can help, but "what should I do" is a lousy question. What would I do? I have an H22. I paid a shitload for it 5 years ago. That was my choice. The F20B was around then as well... but I went for the easier swap, the more common engine, and the more supported engine within the aftermarket. At the time, having an H22 in a CB7 WAS an uncommon thing. People drooled over it. Now, it's only slightly uncommon... and often sneered at as the "easy" way out.
Do what you want. If you can't afford to do something right, don't do it... save until you can. I can see you buying a $500 engine from some shady shop, getting the engine 6 months later with a broken camshaft and a hole in the block. That, or you'll get the motor in, run around with the long-geared F series transmission, say that it sucks, and sell the car to someone else... who won't appreciate it because they didn't do any of the work.

Save for a good setup. You CAN find it all for a grand if you look, but probably from a private seller. NO reputable engine importer will sell that cheap. Any that would will be likely to sell you garbage.
If you can't afford to do it right, you shouldn't do it at all.
And yes... looking for something that sells for $2000 after shipping from most places for half that price... is half-assing. I'm as cheap as the next guy (believe me... I have NEVER paid full price for anything since I overpaid for my swap!) Still, there are some things you should NEVER go cheap on. Motor swaps, internal parts, turbo, electronics, brakes, suspension, and tires are some of the major ones.
Put $2000 into your swap. Put $800 into your suspension. Put $500 into your tires, and $200 into your brakes. That's just $3500... Sure, probably twice what you paid for your car, and only part of what probably needs to be done (I'm SURE you have rust holes in your rear quarter panels... at least one...) but it's a good start. Do it right, and you'll actually like your car. Do it wrong, and you'll be PMing me for the password to the Classifieds section so you can sell your car (and no, I won't give you that password...)

very well put. I am one of many who can tell you that hmotorsonline will not let you down. Im in the process of the h22 swap and think it is fairly strait forward. I regret not doing as much research as i should of before i dug in.
My advice is to spend some time looking at all of the swap threads to get your head on strait about what is necessary to complete both the F20b and H22 swaps and then decide for yourself. G/L with the reading

if u've ever heard of jhot they are one of the largest jdm importers in the business....u can get a full h22 swap with longblock, tranny, ecu, harness, and axles for $1500 + tax but even goin this way u still have to to change the distrubitor depending on whether or not its internal or external and u have to run 3 wires for vtec. Its just something that happens when u put a motor in a car that it wasnt made for.
