ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Another newbie q

I just took my Accord for a 300 mile drive. Absolutely awesome car! It handled the biggest hills with no problems and got me to my destination without a single worry. Great car! I know its a bigger engine, then my Civic and, I am totally blown away with how well this car did.
I am wondering since I have found some H23/F23 engines for good deals locally if its really worth doing any of these swaps. I guess I am asking if they will really make a difference as far as how my car performs for them long drives as I will do a lot of them in this car.

Well when people do an engine swap it's for more performance. An h22 or an h23 will give noticeable differences over the f22 performance wise..but for long trips I would stay with the f22

I totally agree. I am interested in using the car mainly for daily driving. So, if I do anything it will be another SOHC. Would the newer SOHC engines do better on fuel?

The F22A is better than any newer SOHC engine out there. Fuel economy is about the same. Newer ones might be better for emissions, at least if you convert the car to OBD2... but even then, it's not THAT much better.

H23 or H22 would be my votes if you want some more power. If not, stick to the F22A.

I do remember my H23 in my old Prelude was a great engine. The torque it produced was amazing. I found one local to me for a good deal. I am just trying to get as many opinions as I can.
