ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

If you don't have access to any power tools... use a long breaker bar.

long ratchet and socket. pretty easy to get off but you may be twisting on the wrong side cause one side is welded to the mount. just get some torque on there and heave ho!

I had this problem before, if tools are limited its best to use a breaker bar. The bottom bolt is tricky so use the rachet with extenions, get long pipe that will fit over the rachet and it will do it.

Yeah, a long breaker bar is my best friend. Just be careful and don't smack yourself in the head with it, I did this a few times and it hurts.

If you dont have a long breaker bar, put a box end wrench on the end of your rachet to get some extra torque...

dont do what i did... what looks like a nut on the right hand side (when looking at the mount in the bay) is actually WELDED to the frame, the bolt you want is on the left hand side (for the lower one)

yeah the top nut/bolt is normal, the left side is a nut, and the right side should be a bolt with a little tab on it. But on the bottom is where it's tricky, ONLY the LEFT side nut unscrews, not the right side. The right side is welded on to the bracket so whatever you do its not gonna move. so be sure to just unscrew the left side of the torque mount. And what i used to get it off was this Gear Wrench i bought at Sears. Its really slim and long, so that helped get into that tight area. I believe its a 17mm size but not positive. The cool thing is they've got 4 wrenches in one on that, one side has 18/19mm and the other end has 16/17mm. Kinda like a ratcheting boxed end wrench. VERY handy IMO. I think a set of two w/ 4 wrenches on each, 8/10 12/13 on one and 16/17 18/19 on the other was 25 bucks.
