When lowering?

when lowering a cb7 accord say 2" is the camber, alignment or toe gonna go all out of whack? my game plan now i got the progress sway bar on is to get H&R sport springs with tokico illumina shocks and maybe a energy suspension bushing kit. shoes will be 15x6 konig helium with fuzion Zri's.

So will i have to spend more money on an alignment kit and whatever else so my tires don't wear in one season of driving?

You should always get an alignment anytime you change the suspension. As far as how out of wack it will be, get the alignment and then see.

get camber correction blocks or a adj. balljoint camber kit. if you're 2" lowered, then yeah your camber is gonna be outta wack from normal specs and be prepared to spend $$$ for tires more than usual.

I'm lowered 2 inches and I don't see any camber wear on my tires. They wear out like it's sitting on normal suspension. Equal and cute. The toe is what you need to be more concerened of , that's where my suspension is whack for now. But no biggie since I have the Firestone lifetime alignment.. I get it aligned every 3 months

wtf. you have the firestone lifetime. i have that too and they won't touch my car. perhaps the wag us too long for their ramp or they just don't want to bother. anywho, check around town to see what shops are doing what. i had the hardest time the past 3 years finding shops that will touch my lowered ride, so she basic either sat or i drove it sparely since the tires are on their way out anyways. at the time it was only 2.25/2.0 now that i have coilovers its a drop of like 2.5 or 3 all around but now if found a ntb with a flush mount rack. so look around.

You alter any form of suspension work on your car there is going to be wear. Camber doesnt wear out too bad. If all else toe is what eats up tires quick.

I'd suggest getting an alignment right away but when lowering the car, just lowering, the only thing that will change will be the camber. If you correct the camber, then the toe will be out alot. But I suggest doing it right the first time, but w/ a minimal drop you should be pretty good w/ slight neg. camber which is good.

i lowered my car a little more than 3" and my tire wears very little unequal... not enough for me to mess the camber or toe ....

Honestly, if the parts you're putting on are new, I'd wait 2-3 weeks to get it aligned and let the drop settle to where it's going to be, more or less.

As others have said, it's the toe you need to be concerned about more than camber. Too much camber is never good and you will have wear issues related to that, but toe is what's going to eat your tires in the short run.

I killed a set of tires at stock height in less than 20K miles because of toe. I then lowered and had everything set up, and didn't have any more wear issues.

You should see some camber wear when lowered... 2"+ is where it usually gets bad. I'm on H&R Race springs, and I'll be getting a camber kit very soon. A camber kit is never a bad idea. All 4 corners would be cheaper than new tires... so it's best to do it.




Also, to the OP... Unless Konig recently released the Helium in 15" with a 4x114.3 bolt pattern, they will not fit on your car. I contacted the company to ask about that a few years ago, and they told me they are in 4x100 only. Sucks.
