ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

that's all? some of the guys on here probably have twice that.

Idk theres a saying that at 300k, you're just breaking in a Honda engine.
take good care of it and it'll probably last a long time.

from that pic, it looks like it's maintained pretty well. there appears to be no oil leak at the distrubitor or from the valve cover. although you might want to check first from the left and the 3rd one( when facing the engine) i know that third one tends to leak oil.

All depends on how well you maintain them. I know a good majority will last well over 200k and a good portion have lasted over 300k. Theres a few guys on here that have over 300k. I picked up a rumor, a few years back, that the f22a1/a4/a6's die off or crap out at like 240-260, but many ppl have proved it wrong.

I think it's funny that people are saying the F22A is a bad engine because it's prone to dying at 240-260K. Most domestics are lucky to make it past 150K.

Depending on how you take care of it and how you drive it.

If you keep on abusing it I doubt it will go past 150K.

If you give it love and care it will go over 300K no problem.

If you have mixed preferences abuse + love and care ratio mixture, it will give you problems every once in a while.

I think thats an F20A right?
It just puffs smoke when you first start it, thats it. Thats after a whole day not running either.

I had a Prelude with a B21 - one of the worst engines Honda ever made - and it pulled great at 170k despite me beating the snot out of it. My friends all drive D-series hard and they have no trouble passing 200k and 300k.

That said, take care of it like all these dudes have said.

i used to have an '85 Accord hatchback that my mom bought for me as a first car, she bought it with about 170k and i personally got it up to 210k then coming home from a trip to Chicago, she sold it on me.

my 90 Accord now, i bought it off a buddy, only has 134K on it. i plan on driving getting it up to at least the high 200k before swapping engines or idk..
i plan on keeping it for a long time.

2nd and 3rd gen were the A20A in the US... well, through 86 it was the BT... but it was pretty much the same motor. They last forever if taken care of.

The B21 wasn't a bad motor. People don't give it credit. It's good. The only downside is that there's nothing to do with it. No easy swaps, not many performance options... It's just kinda... there.
