I left for my lunch break today at work and had a dead battery. I had left the lights on from this morning. I had the car jumped and no problem. On the way home I noticed that as I came to a stop the engine seemed like it was going to die. It never did though. I know the battery cables were really loose and I will replace them asap. Could the loose battery connection cause my problem? Also the power locks will only work when the car is running. If the key is off, its almost like there is not enough power to unlock. Sorry for the long post, any ideas.

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

I find it interesting that you left your lights on, and the idiot audio sound never came on?
I know that if I leave my lights on and turn off the motor, I get an audio sound (beeping)
that alerts me to make sure that I turn my lights off.
In regards to why your motor seems to wanna die, I have no idea .. maybe test the batt,
do a hydrometer test, and also a test on the alt. to see if it's working properly.
Hell, if something like that happened to me, I'd do a complete charging system test.
Hope it all works out ..

most likely loose terminals... power fading while your engine is running really has nothing to do with your battery, your battery is only for starting and voltage regulation through your electrical system, your alternator is what gives you power while your driving. but if your cables are loose that could cause your problem.

How can I check this? I am going to test the system tomorrow and replace whatever is needed. Thanks for the input.

When you jump your battery, you need to recharge it by driving it around the place. You cant just get it jumped and shut it off. You need to drive around at least 15 mins. As for the loose cables, if you loose connection with battery, your alternator turns into your primary power supply. You can honestly run your car without a battery once its started but its not suggested. If the battery keeps getting an on and off connection, it will cause your car to act as if it was gonna die. I had the same problem before. Get the power supply secure. Its important you get that fixed asap.
It shouldnt be your alternator, but if you want to test it out, start your car and disconnect your positive battery. If your car dies immediately, you need to replace your alternator.
Good luck with your situation.
