Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Is this normal?

    I have an 1993 accord ex 5spd, with a f22a1 in it. it has about 122,000miles on it. And is starting to make what appears to sound like a slight rod knocking. Is this normal for these cars around that mileage to start doing this? Thanks in Advance

      It isnt very loud. I mean the only time I hear it is when Im idling in a drive thru at fast food places. If its idling and you get out and walk to front of the car you can hear if very faintly after it been running for a few minutes

        Like a tick tick tick?

        Probably a valve tick. Very normal to our cars since Honda's are notorious for valve ticks. You need a valve adjustment done if that's the case.

          my valves are ticking inbetween 1700 and 2200 rpms as well, i was wondering how much would a valve adjustment cost, assuming that is the problem

            $130 at Honda.

              Yeah that more like the sound it making. Not too bad for a valve adjustment. How often are those required?

                If I'm correct it's 15,000 miles. But you don't really need to do that every 15K.

                  Sweet. That figures. Probably need to get that done soon I assume before it gets worse. Lol. But what is the noise that the rod knocking makes?

                      Rod knock is usually loud and does not sound good.

                        I'm not sure. That's my quote on my Accord. Prolly cheaper on EG's. or maybe not. Call em up.

                          Kinda what I was thinking. But wanted to make for sure. Lol Ive never encountered it yet. Hopefully I wont encounter that noise either

                            yea i would imagine so, but thats what im probably going to do, you think they would let me watch the mechanic do it, i wouldnt mind learning something new
