ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Has any one ever seen, or has, a j30a1 engine in their CB7?

I was looking on the engine list, I didn't hear anyone talk about it, but is it possible to put that in the car? I sure there would be a lot of tweaking, but its possible right? I am willing to test it out for everyone if we can get a fund going. LOL (but think about that, all we would need is for a bunch of people to give like 50 cents.)
BTW there is one on ebay for like $695 with 23 hours left. look nice

There is a large thread going in the swaps forum about that. Nobody on here has done it yet, but someone will. It's doable, but it wouldn't be easy. A LOT will have to be custom!

The H22 swap has spoiled us. It's so straightforward that anything else is just too much work for most!

isn't a V6 gonna totally screw up the handling? since it has 2 extra cylinders and weighs way more? I mean a 6 cyl has to weigh cosiderably more than an H22 or F22 would. b/c then you would need to switch out the springs, and if you're on coilovers that would cost $$$, i mean can it even fit? That a LOT of work, when the H22 has the same power. I bet you could even turbo that H22 and it would still be cheaper than trying to figure out new mounts and wiring and whatever else would be needed.

                    no one has done it because it's like breaking your finger on purpose;

why the fuck would you do that?

most people innovate to address a need or concern with the car and this will do none of that. it will not benefit anyone anywhere except that guy that has all those j's sitting around and all those cb7's without motors

One of the K series have about 20 more HP than the J, but that J has 195 trq. I am not saying I want to do it, I dont got that kind of $$$.

will it make the car drive/handle better after doing this swap? Name some benefits, because right now the H22 is a much better option w/o having to do many costly modifications. Lets just say hypothetically I did this swap, yeah i'm kidding, but imagine, that this is in my car. Will more people be impressed and respect me for doing this or will they question me and think i'm stupid for not doing an H22? I mean does this have any better technology or attributes? I just want to know why people want to do this. Is it b/c they're bored or something? why?

I don't know, I was just asking, and I am guessing no one has done it yet. You sound almost mad that someone would even think it. I was just going off of the numbers in the engine posting. I just figured it would be nice to have 195 trq with 200 HP. I didn't think about weight and all that. Just asking

Well I suggest we get a V8 hemi and some tracker trailer springs and test that out.
