ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I consider a tank going from absolutely full to the needle pointing at E. (About 14 gallons.) I'm getting about 400 miles out of that with roughly a 50/50 split of highway and surface roads. That averages out to about 29mpg. Considering my last vehicle was a 4x4 pickup that netted me around 14mpg, I'm pretty happy with this kind of mileage.

I'm getting about 300-350 on a tank, and by a tank I mean somewhere between 12-14 gallons-- city and highway

Ditto on the 350 or so per tank. If I drive like a granny (what the hells the fun in that?) I can get 27mpg, or around 380 on a tank, all in city.

This begs the question, if you add an aftermarket air filter, like a cold air or short ram, will you get better gas mileage, or worse?

well I think my mpg has gotten worse since I put in my cold air, but that could also be my driving

well the cold air should help your mpg, given that you dont romp on it all the time. I got 32mpg w/ CAI, header, Catback, 17s going all highway w/ the AC on. so idk, just keep it steady at a constant pace and that's how you net high mpg's

yeah, but my headers are still sitting in a box, and I can't get the catback until my student loan comes in...so I'm not running a full system yet. would that matter?

no that shouldn't, by itself (intake) AEM claims 2-3 mpg can be achieved. but it all depends on the condition of your engine.

well she's pushing 270k miles, so there's that. I run mobil 1 every 3000 miles though....

but hey, that's what engine swaps are for

I dont know my MPG, but 5 bucks, at $3 a galon gets me about 50 miles. I went out racing with my lil' bro one night, and i went through about 4 1/2 gallons of gas in about 45 min. That said, you gotta remember, alot i based on driving style.

When you add performance mods, you often run rich. If you have an intake, header, or exhaust system on there (aftermarket stuff, obviously) you've probably decreased your mileage. The ECU sees more airflow and dumps more fuel. If you want to fix it, your best bet is to get the ECU tuned, which isn't cheap... or learn to do it yourself. Not many people here tune basic NA F22As. It's all H22, F22B, H23, or turbo.
i have intake, headers, and exhaust and my mileage is the same if not better lol.

I noticed almost no difference in gas mileage with my aem cai.
