proportioning valve

Why does everyone use the 40/40 valve I got a 25/30 Valve out of the yard today out of a 90's style prelude?? not the 300zx style lights the body right before that 93-94 something like that it has all wheel disc and no ABS what I want whay wont it work did a quick serch and nothing

If you don't use the correct valve than the rear wheels will either lock up too easily, or they won't approach the maximum braking they could otherwise acheive, and the front wheels will lock up too easily. Use the correct one for your car, not one from another car that will require a different front to rear brake bias, asking for expensive or even lethal trouble.

Even if the car to which you fit the wrong valve has ABS, you will compromise braking performance. Be warned, this is not a good idea!

The accords came with 3030 stock I believe. Going to that size will actually decrease your braking pressure. So you would be better off searching for a 4040.

Also I don't think you can use a prop valve if you have abs. Something about abs replaces the prop valve. I'm going from memory right now so does someone wanna confirm this?

I understand brake bias and such and I know about no valve with a abs pump but I'm taking off abs and my question is if I have all wheel disc now and am putting on a prelude valve that came with all wheel disc why do I need a 40/40 valve??

Well, i parted out a ABS equiped cb7, and it had/and still have the prop/ valve. I dont know the ratio though

If I remember correctly, the valve is electronically controlled by the ABS module. Brake proportioning in an ABS car is variable depending on the braking needs at each corner. When a wheel slips, the computer senses the loss of traction and adjusts the proportioning at all four corners to maximize traction.
