ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

There is no B20 Vtec, technically. It's a hybrid motor. There is no factory power rating, and I'm sure people have varying results depending on what head and block they use (the B20B has lower compression than the B20Z). In general, the best combination yields about 200hp and 150ft-lb... similar to an H22, I suppose.

      Why do you ask?

One of the transporters at my work has a 91 integra that he says he swapped a B20Z block with a VTEC Head (not sure which one, I've asked but to no avail) and a ITR intake manifold.

Not sure what he's putting down but I would like to see it run.
          3 CB's gone....
          1 WK Overland....

Still miss the CB though......maybe one day.

B series suck in our cars. Its been discused a few times, and they dont have enough torque to haul around our cars.

Not to mention the days of custom work you need to do (straight working, no sleep) custom mounts... tranny wouldnt fit, you need custom axles... etc.. i could keep going but yeah.

They average close to 200 like deev said. Tq ratings are similar to an h22. I have seeen a few run around 150-160tq at the wheels. Its a potent motors but I wouldnt put one in a cb. Plus you need to know wtf is going on in those motors since they are not so reliable.

If it's been discussed plenty of times, then you should know that the "no torque" argument is BS. The B20 VTEC, if it truly has 150ft-lb, makes a good deal more torque (in Honda terms ) than the F22A. There are European CBs that came with 1.8L engines. It WILL move the car.

You are correct in the other downsides, though. The setup is very different, especially the shifting methods. The amount of custom work would make it thoroughly impractical for the potential gains. For all that custom work and money, I'd sooner make a CB7 RWD with an S2000 driveline!

No, Not bs. The argument wasn't so much about whether or not a 1.8L will move a cb. It was whether or not it will move a CB better than a 2.2L. With all things being equal(say B18B vs F22B),Same weight vehicles, Same power output, transaxles being irrelevant(in case you bring up torque multiplication), or both engines being bolted to a F22 trans. that answer is no.

The SR20 vs KA24 deal in mondojackals thread. Remember what you said? You prefer the extra torque of the KA or something to that effect. Anywho, Done thread jacking. B20 vtec power rating = whatever you make it.

The B20 can output the same torque numbers as an h22a with no problems. The main problem is reliability. It doesnt like to be taken to excessively high rpm because of the long stroke mainly. But the other modifications required to make it work makes the swap not worthwhile.

i asked bout the B20 VTEC cause i jus met a guy while i was workin that bought an integra for his girl for $1600 and aside from the carbonfiber hood... that things suited wit a B20 with VTEC and it came wit the VTEC controller and all kinda nice shit.
