ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Question about new headers/downpipe

Hey all, I don't know that much about cars yet but one of the next things I want to do to my car is change the stock headers/downpipe for performance ceramic ones.. The exhaust pipe/muffler has already been replaced and the cat was removed.

I just started talking this over with a friend and I was wondering if it would be necessary to pull the engine to do this or if i could just jack up the front of the car with my friend's hydraulic jack and unscrew the old and mount the new one by bringing it under and up from the bottom of the car..

BTW, I have a 92-95 jdm h22a, so that would mean I need the h22 headers/downpipe for 92-95 h22 preludes right? Like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/92-96...ayphotohosting

The headers you are looking at are two piece. you should be able to put on the headers from the top and the down pipe from the bottom. Then bolt them together as well as bolting the headers onto the exhaust manifold and down pipe to your exhaust. You may have to remove the upper rad hose to gain access to the headers.

Okay cool thx, but would anyone know if that header/downpipe I linked to in the first post is the right one for me?

That header will work, but don't expect much. The stock H22 header is already fairly decent (unlike the F22A1)

I'm not expecting much but it still would make a small difference and it would look better IMO

But don't you still need a heat shield? (or wrap it) the ceramic paint is not going to hold off all the heat and the heat might get to the ps pump right?

...Ceramic will hold...How do you think they treat it. Anyway the header will work. MAKE SURE it is a 92-95 header for a vtec lude. The 97-01 header is short.

                          Uhhhh What?

Why would you have to remove the upper rad hose? There is more then plenty of room to work with in there... The headers hould pop right out the top,and the downpipe you will have to shivvy out the bottom, when you take all that out, i recommend looking at the rest of the exhaust system, I ripped mine out and therally checked for anything else that might be on its way out, Cat converters always look rusted to hell unless they are stainless steel, but if your putting a fart cannon on there too, you minus well get a quiet cat, without a cat in there, our exhaust systems just sound like rice machines.

OBX headers are good, DC's are great, Greddy's im not so sure about, they didnt make much stuff in general for the F22A motors, But if your rockin an H22, you should be good to go. I would take OBX headers over the top 3 posted.

THe megan racing is equivalent to the DC. People get the DC if they need to get smogged. The GReddy isnt that much higher than stock also. There has been a big thread on h22 headers on HT.
