ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

rough power steering + squeaking noise

it all started yesterday... i thought it will go away after i warmed the car up but it didn't.

it feels rough and a bit tight when u turn the steering, and squeaks... and i noticed that the power steering fluid was all bubbled when i check the reservior

will new power steering fluid help? how do i drain it... or i need a new pump/rack?

are you low on fluid? if you have bubbles you could be low and you are getting air in the system

Is your fluid dirty for a long time?

If yes it might have fucked your system. I suggest replacing it if you havent done so.

well i wouldnt say its common, it can happen to the high mileage cbs, or ones that have used an 'additive' in the ps fluid. basically air is getting into the system somewhere it should...most likely occurs at the pump seals

topping up wont do anything, most likely the air is gettnig pulled in from somewhere it shouldnt. If the pump requires a rebuild its not too difficult, just basically taknig it off the car, taking it apart and putting it back together the same way.

i added some ps fluid and it turns smooth now with no squeaking... guess the fluid was runnin low and trapped some air...

                            I have this problem..

use Lucas Oil power steering fix..

it doesnt fix the problem but it fixes the symptoms.

mine still leaks a bit ( alot less after the Lucas) but no longer screams or feels chuncky when turning the wheel..

I can run the resivoir dry and it will still be smooth cuz of the Lucas oil..
