ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Ouch..

So, I'm pretty sure the Cb is dead. I blew a head gasket about...a month and a half ago, but at the same time, one of my hoses blew. So, we figured the car was runnin' like crap for awhile, cause a buncha anti-freeze was sucked through the intake, cause you can smell anti-freeze out the exhaust. well, about.....2 1/2 weeks ago, car seems to be suckin' anti-freeze pretty quick, and it start boggin' when it gets warm. Checked the oil, it was fine. No white spots, blah blah. Well, checked it Sunday. Looks like vanilla icing on my cap. Thick as hell. Car's tickin', but I couldn't tell, cause my exhaust is pretty damn loud. (no cat) So, pretty sure the block's cracked, and it's the end of that engine. But..the body of the car itself, is in tip-top shape, so...I'ma save a few bucks and drop a h22 in it, around Spring. Gotta few questions though. I'm sure there's already threads about the H22's and all, but...which is the most preferred? I have a 91' SE Automatic A6. I've read that the tranny will bolt on perfectly, engine will fit on the mounts already on the car, yaddah yaddah. Any sensor replacements? I know you gotta switch ecu's. Any reprogramming? If anyone could help me out on a walk through the installation, and the stuff I'd need to make a clean swop, and which H22 is preferred and not too difficult, that'd be awesome.

All H22s are the same. An OBD1 motor (pre-1996) is easier (less wiring to do).

Check the Swaps forum for walkthroughs. All the information is there.

Yea, money really isn't a problem when it comes to an engine. BUt I'll check the section out, and come back if I have any questions afterwards.

Automatic H22As can be purchased from J-Hot for <$1000. If the body is nice, why not?
