ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

check the battery fuse under the hood, it's bigger than the rest of the fuses. later.

Make sure your connections are clean, and all your grounds are secure.

Then clean your battery connections, and make sure that all your grounds are clean and secure.

If those things all check out, it might be your ignition switch. It doesn't crank at all, correct? When you turn the key, does it light up, click, and shut off? Or does it do nothing at all?

Are you sure the battery held the charge?

And did you clean your connections. You haven't responded to that. Yes, it sounds idiotic... but clean them well.

I had a similar problem (well, I got a click and then nothing...) I spent $300 on a new starter and battery, only to have them not work. I sat there, frustrated, drinking my last can of Coke, when I remembered the old chain email about people using Coke to clean engines and stuff. It's BS, but hell, I tried it. Soaked a napkin in Coke, ran it through the terminal clamps, and it started. That was all I ever needed to do! I don't recommend using Coke, but definitely clean the connections.

No i have not cleaned the battery connections. The battery i have in there is not even three or four mouths old. and before it started messing up the speed and RPM gauges started going all wack and stuff.

If the gauges were going crazy, it could be a grounding issue. Check the grounds. I had my fender ground snap on me, and every time I turned, the battery would pull it away. It would make my gauges go nuts, shut off my radio, flicker my lights... I couldn't tell by looking at it that it was broken, but when I pulled on it, it was totally snapped.

Check your grounds. Clean your battery cables (it doesn't matter if the battery is new... mine was a BRAND NEW Optima Red Top, and it didn't start until I cleaned the cables.)

After you do those things, if it STILL doesn't work, we can start thinking of something more in-depth. Seriously though. This is the 4th time I'm saying this... Give it a shot (don't mind the "Beginner" under my name... I own this site)

check all of your grounds. check that the little wire form the battery to the fuse block under the hood is tight and clean. have some one bend that little wire its full length and try to start it wile they bend it it my have a internal break. all connections from the battery need to be spotless and clean. it really does make a differance. that white corriosion that gets on your termenals can travel up the inside of the wire under the insulation check all of this things. if none of that helps i can call my friend that has been a mechanic at honda for 9 years and ask him were to look next. good luck

If you've done everything else, then perhaps it's a bad ignition switch.
