ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

If you buy a catback through eBay, they can typically be installed by the owner in an afternoon, saving you labor costs. The ebay system is also designed to go together, and comes with a resonator. Having the system installed by a shop typically ends up being a little more expensive, and they may not include a resonator, but it will have a guarantee on their workmanship for at least 90 days. Weigh your options and decide for yourself!

i agree. But also ebay catbacks are exactly the same like greddy and apexi. Well not the muffler section (axleback) obviously but the piping is almost identical. I would go with ebay unless you look around for a cheap used name brand.

I know people in the past have been very successful with ebay but I don't like to go to them for parts. I figure, if you're spending the money to soup up your car, spend the money to soup up your car. Several people think ebay is god, and I agree.. I use them all the time for little body stuff but NOTHING performance. The last thing I want is to spend a couple hundred bucks on a no name brand cat that will rust out in a month. That's just my opinion. I would go with a legit company.

thats what i did and ended up spending 300 on a USED thermal r&d that was 4 years old. That hurt my wallet. But it sounds hella good even with no cat.

I use eBay to find bargains on parts where name brand isn't necessarily a huge issue. Catback exhausts and intakes are two such areas. When it comes to something like an exhaust header or suspension parts, on the other hand, you definitely get what you pay for. Stick with well known name brands.

Brand names are almost always better, even in the areas that you can't really tell the difference...

However, the difference between a brand name and a cheap system is about the same as the difference between a cheap system and a muffler shop setup. Get the proper diameter and you'll be fine with anything, really. If you're planning a swap or turbo in the future, go with the cheapest option, as you'll want to change it later on.

I went to a local shop and got 2 1/4 pipe and later had them put on a resonator and got a tip from a local import shop...sounds great and runs strong...in all it cost bout 300...same as some name brand stuff..just go with what ur budget is, call around and see what people offer...
