ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I'm new here, but I do know somewhat about cars.

As far as the turbo go, I think all you need is the correct piping. You might have to fabricate some by yourself.

But personally I think if you are planning to turbo, do it right the first time. Use quality parts so you will save a lot of pain later on.

As with any turbo, you'll need to do some custom work. I know nothing about Chrysler turbos... what brand they use, specs, etc... but there's a good chance that it'll be rather small for the application.

What size Chrysler engine are you taking this from? What car? (I assume chrstler means Chrysler...)

If you know nothing about how a turbo works, and how to make a turbo work on an F22A, you have a lot more to worry before you even think about getting the turbo itself...

And if you're just wasting our time so you can get to 30 posts... well, we'll see what happens then

Learn more. When you start slapping shit together, it'll only cause problems. If you want to boost a stock engine, you're going to have to plan things carefully. A small turbo will be like taking a blowtorch to your motor.

yea i was either thinking turbo or just doing the h22 swap.. so it sounds like the h22 is the safer way to go, thanks for the advise

Just like with the turbo, going cheap with an H22 is a recipe for disaster as well. Do your research there as well.

Also too small, unless you use the "big" 16G from the Evo3.

But yes, the 14b from the 1st gen DSMs is a popular choice, and will work for a little while. It's made for a 2.0L engine at low boost, so putting it on a 2.2L engine is pushing it.

The two turbos both use the same housing (TD05H) but they can be told apart by looking at the compressor wheels. As you can see here, the 16G has a dual-vaned (and larger) compressor wheel. The improved compressor wheel design allows the 16G to flow 100 CFM more than the 14B.
