ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    stock intake question

I just removed the ont tube that goes from the resonator to the air box... then i found a second tube placed farther down the air box. i was about to remove that one as well. then i saw some wires running to it that looked as if it may be and a sensor of sorts...

    what is it?
    do i need it?

i'm just doing this until i can buy my AEM intake

Intake control solenoid valve. It decreases air intake noise.

yeah bro, I went a little crazy and took my fender off to get to that tube / box you see sitting in your fender where the stock box was hooked too. But also, I just took that black box out. You can unplug the wire running to it and leave it hanging. Just remove box and trace the vaccuum line back to your plenum where you can take the line completely off. However, it is not a good idea to keep a line open like that so you should plug it up. They sell little condom that can slide over the port to plug it up.

hold up... that line runs all the way into the intake manifold.

crap. okay... so there's (1)the intake control solenoid valve that has its thing inside the tube running from the resonator to the air box (2)then there's what looks like a small air line from the intake control solenoid valve to the little box thing (is that the valve?) (3)then that line runs right into the intake manifold.

im not sure how to get rid of this anymore

please excuse me for being a noob, and thank you for your patience

i just posted ^this^ before i saw what ExCoupe92 wrote.

so that line can just chill there as long as it has its condom...

                  awesome, thanks!
