ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    h22 ?

im looking to swap my f22 and get an h22 but i need to know can i use my same tranny or do i have to get a tranny from and h22. also what year prelude were ther h22s?

hey i see you don't have many posts..

but under the area where you need to ask a question their is an option to search for your answer without posting one.

type in h22 swap or h22 transmission and you should find tons of usefull info.

but to answer your question.. no your tranny will work although it would give optimal performance to get the h22 tranny esp, with lsd.

what honda did was design that tranny to fit the power band of the h22 verry closely, and makes for a better driving experience..

in other words...he's saying our f22 trannies isnt meant to go at higher RPMs than the h22 can...and overreving our f22 trannies gets ruinned. So it's better to go with the h22 tranny..
BTW are u actually gettin an H22 soon?...i mean, i think u should do more research and learn more of what your tuning with than not knowin wtf ur doing...cuz it'll come in handy soon. I mean there's alottttta stuff/ppl on here with alot of knowledge...so if anything im still learning before getting an H swap.

thats not what i am saying at all...

Take note that most h22 or f22 owners like the f22 long geared trannies for turbo swaps all the time. and at the moment i to have a f22 auto tranny, and rev it to 8 grand without a problem.

but in the end a shorter geared tranny allows the h22 to reach it's max power band alot faster and stay in that part for the whole WOT ..

I have never had any problems out of over revving any f22 tranny. I don't believe anyone else has either,, normally overrevving kills the motor first.

Exactly. The F22 transmission is fine... but when you shift, you end up lower in the RPM range... out of thethe "powerband", or the RPM range where the motor makes the best power.

The F22 transmission will work, but it's not optimal. No harm will come from using it.

All F and H series transmissions (aside from the S2000 transmissions, and the Prelude SH transmission) will fit on any H or F series motor in our cars with no problem.

well... the great thing now is you do and will tell other people facts instead of opinions, and that is what the forums need.

If you don't KNOW something is true, then please don't present it as fact... ESPECIALLY here in the beginner forums. That's how bad rumors get started, and it's harder to dispel bad information once it begins to circulate!

Spend a few years on these boards, and you'll see just how crazy some things can get...

O meant i didnt know that quote btw...sorry..now i DID read somewhere on here but i forgot...someone mentioned something about like the f22 tranny couldn't reach as far as the h22...so that's what i mentioned as well...cuz this member on here did have a nice cb too so i figured hey he most likely knows more than i do. Researched it to make sure...and it was right! But i am wrong about the tranny blowin up first...forgot about the engine hahahaha. SHOWS WHAT I KNOW! hah

                        We're all here to learn

I own the joint, and I'm still WAY behind a lot of people! I know a fair amount, but I'm far from an expert myself.

When giving advice, don't just regurgitate information, unless you have something other that the word of another tuner to go on. If you haven't done it yourself, or don't have a full understanding of the concept, don't just pass it around. It's better to keep all the info floating around as factual as possible!
