    Steering Wheel Shaking

Hey guy I have a delimma that I need help with. About 3 or 4 months ago ive had to pay new 2 front tires and get it aligned as well after the first week of alignment I have felt the steering wheel shake a little at about 40mph. Once I get the CB7 up to 55 or higher it really starts to shake really bad. I have takin it back to the place where they aligned it. they said that the aligement is perfect and the balance was maybe off by like 0.25. Obvisly its not the alignment thats making the steer wheel shake. Would anyone have any idea what the problem might be? Thanks!!

does it also shake when you get on the brakes? if so, then your rotors might be warped.

Wheel balance is the most likely culprit. Get that fixed and see if it keeps up.

Other possible causes are axles, brake rotors, and suspension components. Wheel balance is by far the most likely, though.

the wheel doesnt shake when braking and the Good Year guys said that the balance is where it is supposed to be. I also but in KYG GR-2 shocks in around august of this year so the suspension has been replaced

I would take it somewhere else and have them balance the wheels, and make sure to check the tires very closely for any seperation. I once had a similar problem and could not figure out what the problem was til about 100 miles down the road when i found a bubble in my tire where the tread was seperating. good luck.

x2 I need to replace mine very soon.

My car used to shake at about 55-65 mph. I'm pretty sure it stopped after I got new tires.

Yea, I went to get 4 new tires put on, and they never balanced them (and I paid for that shit too), and I just rotated 'em, and no more shaking. The shaking was kinda bad too. I had to re-tighten my steerin' wheel, but I couldn't do that, until I drove back from Tennesse, cause I had the douche bags put the tires on right before I left. So I'd say, take it to another place and get them to balance them. Some places are just stupid.

                      get dirty!
check to make sure everything is tight.
this is a tuner website, start tuning/reading.
As much as we want to help you we can't give you definite answers based on what you've told us.
take the wheels off, see if the rotor has play in it that would show you your hub an bearings are shot.
                      start checking some stuff.
it could be 1 of 100 different things!

in my previous cb7 i had a similar problem like the steering wheel shaking. usually its at park and a bad rear motor mount on autos. but if its driving on highway it might be the U joint. while on the highway when you change lanes and turn the whell to the left or right do you notice an increase in road noise. like tire noise. that what happened to me. hope you figure it out. if it shakes while braking then it most commonly the wapred brake rotors as others said

one of your rear tires may have broken inner threads causing the tire to be out of round. this will make the steering shake. also check your rims to see if any are bent.
