ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    New CB7

Hey, I got a 93 lx 190,000m today for $300. I'll post pics soon. The guy told me it needs a new distributor. So I took it home and tried to jump it just to see, and the car tries to turn over while in neutral, by itself, is this a symptom of a bad disributor?

I had the car in neutral and without a key in the ignition it tries to turn over. Oh yeah, the jumper cables got really hot, while the car tried to turn over.

ok..lol u sure that accord wasn't stolen?...cuz if someone did steal it...they might've screwed with the ignition ...hahaha or it just might be screwed up itself. but hope it wasn't stolen bro

But in your description..u gotta be more specific on what's up...and so im assuming you're trying to jumpstart?
Jumper cables getting hot is common/normal...but careful there.

I know it's not stolen.(LOL) I got the title and the kids parents are the orignal owner of the car. I was trying to jumpstart it and when I connected the cables the car started to turn over all by itself, without a key in the ignition, I know that's really weird, but have know idea why it would do this.

              New CB7 Pics

For three hundred I couldn't pass this up. The tires are practically brand new, body is in good condition with no signs of rust,(I'm in the desert so that's not really a big deal here.), the interior is in good condition, but dirty as hell!!! I'm gonna try the distributor from my other 92 cb7 and see if that helps.

300 deal from parents? wow i guess that's not stolen then.
But then again do what you're gonna do...and then if that's not it...it might also be something with the ignition..just a thought u might wanna check.

                    New Distributor

Okay guys, I bought a new distributor and installed that about five minutes ago, and the car still tries to turn over by itself with no key in the ignition. Any thoughts?

I would start at the ignition switch and just start tracing from there. That's why I hate electrical problems, too much trouble shooing for me to enjoy it.

                              It's Alive!

Good News. This afternoon I swapped out batteries with another one my cb7's and the new one started right up! It still started without a key in the ignition, but it does run.

Could the car starting by itself and staying on even though there's no key in the igniton be a sympton of a bad starter?

Now that I've heard it running it's making a loud, fast, ticking noise. I'm wondering if this could be from not seating the dizzy correctly, because the sound seems to be coming from that area. Also my dizzy did not come with an o-ring. Would this cause the dizzy not to install correctly?

Thanks for the thus far, I'll keep you informed.
