ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

msd ignition and high compression need help deciding

In my opinion the msd is not really a necessary mod. I think it helps the higher your rev your motor. For a stock application where you're not gonna reach anything higher than factory rev limit then msd is not necessary. If you're planning on going to 8500 -9000+ then i think the msd would be somewhat helpful. Not to say the stock ignition cant do it but i think the msd smooths out the higher rev range.

The Honda ignition is fine for mild setups. When you go boosted, juiced, or using big cams and crazy compression, it's better to have a stronger spark. The MSD stuff is also a bit more versatile in terms of tuning. You have more control if you get the right things.
This guy's setup could benefit from a stronger ignition. Your setup, Chris, would probably be ok with the stock one still. Regardless, having the upgrade doesn't hurt (we talked about that at Honda Day, I think... I'm usually the first to say "you don't need that!")

Does MSD make a direct ignition system for the F and H engines?...I wonder if its worth the effort?.DEVOTE

Whats the power your gonna make? Stock ignition systems usually can take up to 3-400 hp from what I have seen. The weak part of it usually is the coil. That I would definitely replace.

thanx guys but my real question is will this sytem cause me any tuning issues because they go in and change my curve and adv and retard and such will the tunning still be possible does this unit still depend on my ecu or is it a stand alone type system or will it give me an advantage durring tunningneed h23 head

It will be tuneable. The ECU tuning is separate. I know there is an MSD box or something like that that allows a two step and other stuff. Some people have experiences with that but I am pretty sure you can program thhose into the ECU.
