ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Car Stalls in Cold

    Stock 92 coupe lx 5spd

A full tune up has been done. I cleaned the IACV, TB, and FITV. I couldn't clean the EGR because the bolts are stripped. It's usually fine just sitting there but if I start to go and then stop, for example, going into reverse and then stopping to go into 1st, the idle drops and if I don't give it gas it will stall.

This is the second time today when my car has started in the cold and the idle has gone from 1k down to 200 and back up, then it stalled on me when I went to go from reverse to 1st.

It has no problems once the car warms up. My guess is the EGR is fucked but I can't get the damn thing off either way! Even with pb blaster and air tools!

Could it be something else or do I have to find a way to fix this EGR?

When you say a full tune-up, I am assuming you mean at least plugs, wires, cap, and rotor? Did you replace the fuel filter, air filter, pcv valve, and/or set the ign. timing? If you haven't you probably should, but either way here is some simple things you can mostly check yourself:

      - PCV valve (pull it off and shake it, if you can't here it rattle, you need to change it.)
      - Throttle body sludge (pull your intake boot off, and open throttle plate, if you see alot of gunk or even a little, clean it with some TB cleaner and a tooth brush.
      - EGR stuck (if you can get the bolts off)
      - Ign. timing
      - Throttle position sensor out of calibration
      - FIV out of adjustment
      - Leaking fuel injector(s)
      - Vacuum leaks
      - Intake Manifold leak

I am sure there are many more things that can cause your concern, but I would Check the vacuum leaks, ign. timing, PCV valve, and Throttle body for sludge first. Good luck

        - PCV valve - working properly
        - Throttle body working properly
        - EGR stuck (if you can get the bolts off) I can't get the bolts off, even with an impact wrench and pb blaster, the bolts are pretty round now
        - Ign. timing I'll look into it.
        - Throttle position sensor out of calibration I'll look into it.
        - FIV out of adjustment working properly
        - Leaking fuel injector(s) I'll look into it.
        - Vacuum leaks I'll look into it.
        - Intake Manifold leak I'll look into it.

        My tune up conisted of:
        PCV valve
        SRI
        NGK Iridiums
        Wires
        Cap/Rotor
        Oil/filter
        Trans fluid
        Brake Fluid
        Brakes front/rear
        t-stat
        coolant flush
        radiator hoses
        valve cover gaskets
        fuel filter
        battery
        terminals
        cleaned IACV
        cleaned/adjusted FITV
        cleaned TB
        bled coolant
        radiator cap

and probably more stuff I can't remember

did you pull the intake hose off and look inside the throttle body? Just because it opens and closes, dosen't mean it is right...if there is any build up in there, it won't close all the way, causing idle problems.

pull the intake. Start the car when cold.. Put your finger over the port in the tb. It should have suction while cold. No suction while warm. Make sure it completes that cycle.

Where is the pcv vavle n fuel filter located?

Is that all for a full tune up?
