how do you do a compression test on Auto??

i was wondering if doing an compression test on automatic is the same as on manual, but without the clutch pedal??

I've done it on my auto, IIRC you just crank it in Park

you know I was going to ask that same question.. but I can't do a compression test at all, my car won't start so that's out of the question lol

Well thats the whole point of a compression test. You don't want it to start up when you are doing it, you just want it to crank and crank to get a reading.

You can do the test by hand without having the motor to crank. It just takes a lot longer.

yeah and your arm will get very tired and you won't get as accurate of a reading. go for 3-5 revolutions.
