WHATS GOOD FELLAS, I HAVE A 90 ACCORD DX SOHC (SUPER STOCK) i WOULD LIKE TO KNOW UP TO WHAT YEAR HEAD V-TECH CAN FIT ON MY STOCK BLOCK. i TRYING TO BUILD A SOHC MONSTER SO IM TRYING TO GET THE ALOT OUT OF A LITTLE.

wouldnt you have to modify the coolant and oil passages for the SOHC VTEC head to fit?

WHY DO YOU WANT TO PUT A V-TECH HEAD ON YOUR BLOCK IT WILL BE ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS IF YOU USE A SOHC V-TECH HEAD IT WILL BE WORSE THAN WHAT YOU HAVE AND IF YOU USE A DOHC V-TECH HEAD IT WON'T JUSTIFY THE AMOUNT OF WORK AS THE GAINS WILL NOT BE SIGNIFICANT JUST GET A FULL MOTOR OR MODIFY THE ONE YOU HAVE KTHXBYE.


And if you don't know how to properly spell VTEC, I have SERIOUS doubts about your ability to do a headswap anyway.


To clarify, a bit more politely... a SOHC VTEC headswap would be worse than your current non-VTEC head. SOHC VTEC is crap.

first of all i know how to spell Vtech 2nd iv done over 4 motor swaps so dont dout my ability to do any thing. 3rd im tired of seeing these little civic's buzzing around. I want to build a strong sohc, I jus was'nt sure if I would get more out of the motor with the vtech head or the non vtech. im doing a complete build from port and polish to crank bearings, all the way through. I was going to through the V6 in there but I decided to stick wit my 4 cylinder. But any way u answered my question.

He just told you how to spell it. Search around it has been covered quite a bit. I am pretty sure vtec heads in the search will pop up quite a bit of responses.

i dont always write in caps, when i wrote that i was at work and my keyboard at work the cap lock is broken so i cant turn it off. any way im about to do a build over the winter and i guess im on the right track now. im jus not sure of a couple of things like will a h22 manifold fit on my head and or if its even worth puting it on there vs port and polishing the stock one.

All Im sayin is why don't you search, cuz like I said this exact same question has been asked and answer 800 million times. No need to start another thread.
