ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

    Rubbing On 205/60/15 with drop

Hey, I'm rubbing my front fenders really bad. I have a bit over a 2inch drop all around. Tein Super Street Coilovers completely dropped. And I have 205/60/15 tires. On 15inch rims... duh!

Whenever i turn sharp at any speed, hit a bump at high speeds, or turn (get body roll) hard then I rub. IT makes a horrible noise.

I am planning on a full alignments and new 205/55/15 tires. But NO camber kit, partially funds partially gonna try the whole big camber thing before I upgrade.

So anyways, why am I getting this awful rubbing? I never expected to get this. Will my future plans fix it?

    Thanks for any opinions.

if you are rubbing on the fender fixing camber will only make it worse. I cant imagine it rubbing on the outer fender skin

look in your wheelwell and figure out what it is rubbing on, and let us know. Its probably rubbing the plastic liner, but check and see.

If it jams, force it. If it breaks, it needed replacement anyway.

So 55's really make that much of a difference? I worry 50's will make me too low, plus then I couldn't lift it up at all in the future w/o looking funny.

It's not cheapo suspension, but not super stiff. I LOVE the ride, and was out with my friend ripping up some back roads tonight, but the noise was emberassing / unsatisfying.

                    Hey, don't tell me I can't think.

I already mentioned that I am planning on thinner tires. but wanted to make sure I didn't miss something or would need to save up some more money for something else.

I went out and looked, found its rubbing on the inside part of the fender. Like the black gaurd part the thicker part thats maybe 3/4 of the way in over the tire.

Yeah, that's what seems weird to me, I don't understand why I'm rubbing. But hopefully the 55's, alignments, and maybe even a tad more shaving away at the inner fender get rid of it.

60 series is stock size for 15". I think I have 205/60 on my rear right now, actually.

55 is supposedly best for performance, though, so go with that. I would get a camber kit as well, but don't put it to 0. When you get an alignment, ask them to leave about 1* of negative camber to prevent rubbing and UCA knock.

Well I would get a camber kit... if I had more money. But there are also tons of people that say don't bother with a camber kit, and not idiots. People that I trust, well yeah. I think.

So anyways, camber kit will come later, when I redo the bushings to poly. Thanks for the help everyone.
