ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

if its a 91 more likely is a F22A4. you can look next to the header to the left a plate.

Thanks that helped alot... i looked by the head. it said F22A then the rest was smeared off haha.. but i have another question. if i wanted to drop in a F20b engine (the one with 200 i forget if its a or b) would i need a diff trans or could i use the same and would that be the best time to make it a stick..cuz then i would deff need a diff trans. oh and this is a dumb question but what makes a cb7. like i see yall talking about the ex and lx but no se like mine... well thanks again for all the help

I'm not sure if you've been to a salvage yard or not but i've always wondered why on some of the engines, the engine code is missing. if it wasn't for the bumper lights and the sports button on the auto shifter i wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the Accords.

You said yours was F22A if theres no numbers after that "A" that could be the Japanese engine that someone swapped in if you aren't the original owner. The F22A is comparable to our F22a6.

You could always check to see what ECU you've got under the rug and post back here with it.

well i do know that its not the same engine that orginally came with it. and your saying that if its a A then its just like the one with a.

and are you saying that a simple sport button is what makes the diff between a cb7 and non cb7

just take a shop rag and spray some brake cleaner or engine degreaser on it, then clean the plate where the engine code is on the transmission housing.

if you just see F22A then that's the Japanese engine.

if you've got the auto transmission, the sports button just tells you what year car you might have because the sports button was removed on the 92/93 Accord. When we or anyone say CB7, that refers to the body style of our
90-93 Honda Accord. if you ever see CB9 that's the station wagon version of the 90/93 Accord.

sorry for any confusion. when i'm at the PnP i give the car a once over and to look for tell tale signs of which trim/year the Accord is before i look at the sticker on the rear quarter panel that tells me what i'm actually looking at.

here just look at all these acronyms that this site made up..

yeah i gots a f22a4. oh well means im gonna just have to find a diff. what are the chances of a f20b fitting in there... or just a head swap.. do you know how much of a diff that would make

like h22 head or f20 b head swap
                just a few ideas

and thanks for the cb7 and 9 info haha i was confused at times

you wanna know what makes the difference between your a4 and the a6?
the intake manifold, ECU and the cameshaft.

keep your a4 exhaust manifold/header because it's the 4-2-1 ( flows from four ports to two pipes and then combines into one pipe) design that the aftermarket ones copied which is better than the a6's even.

ok so... a new intake. new ecu and new camshaft(all new performance parts)... would the new ecu have to be programed?(thats prob a duh) and i want to get dc headers and down pipe. that sould set me on my way to mild performance upgrades right haha

what are you trying to acheieve?

for just a little beat around daily driver, a h23 or f22b is cheap and has a decent amount of torque espeically with those transmissions.

it took me longer to do a headswap than to swap the entire engine out. ill leave it at that...

just make sure you have all the parts necessary for a swap and you really shouldnt run into any problems.

i have a f22a4 and i guess i do kinda want to do a swap but if i stick with f series engins i shouldnt have to worry bout changing the trans right?
