ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

    Replacing sunroof

I am going to head to the junk yard to rip a sunroof out of another accord. Does anyone have any recommendations? I know what I have to do to get the headliner out, and I figure I will use the donor car as a guinea pig. If anyone has any actual experience I like to know what to look out for.

None here, but a quick diversion. What type of grease is recommended for the tracks?

Never thought about it but I am sure a lithium grease would be convenient. Ok, enough off topic. Is there a single pro here?

are you replacing yours or trying to put one in???

i done it when i swapped my accords interior with my other accord.

its easy, but its best when things are out of the car like the seats etc.

the top of the headliner comes down but all the handles have to come down as well.....the side pillars and rear side pillars must come down to expose the sun roof.

there is one harness on the passenger side that must be disconnected cause that goes to the dome light....also the dome light have to come down.

its held in by clips (headliner). but the rear clips usually break so make sure u dont rip those out, be carefull...i broke all mine and didnt worry.

the sun roof assym is held in by like 10 10mm bolts that surrounds it as well as some pop clips for the front....it can be taken out by one person but its easier if there was 2.

me and some other local guy did it here to his when we swapped his interior out, pretty fun id say.

oh and the sunroof cover is hard to take out i think so thats why we replaced the whole assymb.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

No I am replacing my cracked glass. I would much rather just do the glass and not the whole assembly. Any ideas on how to get the glass out and re install?

Well me and a friend pulled out mine and replaced with a whole new assem because my glass detached itself from the assem and flew out on I95 no lie lol.

Tips...take your time...a lot of the interior peices have to be removed to get the assem out and if you rush you will damage them.

You WILL need 2-3 people to do this....the sunroof assem in its entirety is extremely heavy and awkward and when taking the old one out you DONT want it to fall on someone or in your car possibly ripping seats or busting out a window.

And if your glass is cracked i would just replace the whole unit...my glass totally came off and i couldnt figure out how to reinstall the glass....i was told a glass shop would have to do it requiring more funds and i got a deal on the new sunroof...100$ glass and all...so we just swapped them and its been perfect since.

Good luck man, this was a pain in the ass and took me and a friend about 3 1/2 hours.

Cool, time isn't an issue. And I am not sure if I want to spend the money on the whole assembly when I know mine is perfectly fine and functional. I noticed though that all of the accords in my local junkyard (untapped Honda heaven) are 90-91s. Will the whole assembly fit perfect in my 93. I hate to just speculate. The glass dimensions are the same.
