ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Transmission Ideas

Well, never fails. I need another transmission about every 6 months and its about that time. 2nd gear is starting to grind when I am shifting hard, here lately I havent been able to get it in gear when I am reving high.

I spend 350 on used transmissions. I can just get another used and who knows how long it will last?? Or should I rebuild the tranny w/ new syncronizers?

I have always thought about getting a h22 tranny. How will that affect the power of the motor?

    Who has a F22 engine w/ a H22 tranmission?

spend 350 and buy another used transmission

h22 has shorter gears so it will make the car quicker, but gas mileage takes a dip

Yeah I know they have shorter gears, Prob I have now if I dont shift quick enough and rev to 7k I cant stay in the powerband. I think my vtec might be set to high for the gear ratio I have now? it kicks at 4400.

How much of a dip will the gas mileage fall?

Well I found want I plan on buying. Brand new H22 transmission. Has only 10miles on the tranny. Plus it already has a quaife diff in it.. My friend wants 1500 for it. Thats a deal to me.

I need to get asap. I dont have reverse. Maybe I bent the shift fork, cuz I was kinda rough with it getting it into second. Most likely the shift fork is bent and syncros are gone!!!

          well.........................

as your SN says BOOST, um....i would think twice about that, those shorter gears will limit how long u stay in boost

an f22 has longer gearing w/enable you to hold that gear longer, staying a little bit longer in your boost

          ............just food for thought

Yeah thats something to think about.

What about reving just as high as a h22 engine. Lets say if you can take the transmission to what it would normally shift at. 8-8500rpm vs shifting at 7k with the f22 tranny. You would still match the time lenght of boost??

Wouldnt shorter gears benefit road course tracks. I am not looking to be fuel eff. This motor is built and boosted. Suspension well tuned. blah blah blah. So I want something that would be best for track performace.

Quiafe makes a 6spd sequential close ratio tranny for the f22. But who has 18,000 bux for that.

I know a f2b-series would be the best route to take.

i wouldnt go for the h22 on your setup. You just dont have the redline that H's do.

when i had a h22 on mine, i'd top out at about 120-125ish and it sucked...

i would get an h23. it'll have the betetr accel and wont kill ur top as much as an h22 would. I would invest in gearspeed sync's theyre good shit man

I hear you on that... Even though the motor was reving to 8500 you still think that the h22 trans would not be worth the money.

Most road course tracks round here, cant get over 130 in the straights.

What about the f20 trans ?

                  Anyone running the f2b?
