ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

My Temp on HI!! Oil LIght Blinking...did i mess the head gaskets up?

i was driving up to smith mountain lake

and my oil light started blinking and staying on and blinking again

not knowing what was wrong i go buy some oil and put it in

    still didn't help

i drove it like that till i saw a repair shop

and it turned out to NOT HAVE ANY WATER/COOLANT in the radiator

and the temperature thing was all the way up

but yea the guy said that i probably messed a head up or a head gasket

and he said if i did i was looking at more than 1k

how do i know if i messed something up or not?

it runs good but not the way it did before for some reason

    not MUCH difference though

isn't it better to get a new used motor..?

if it is messed ? the motor is at 214k...

but no knocking or nothing noises in the engine that i know of..

and do replacing head or head gaskets really that expensive

idk no leaks that i see

and idk if the oil could of mixed with the coolant

the light was blinking so i put 2 things or oil..in it

and ran good then the temperature thing was blazing hot

so i stop and let it cool and ran it again but immediately went up

so i stop at a repair shop and he puts some water in the radiator and

      then runs great from there

i wouldn't know if something is messed up or not

Mybe you just forgot to put in coolant..

        As for your blinking oil...

        2 things:

Faulty oil sensor and/or faulty oil pump

the mechanic dude said the blinking was dude to it not having coolant in the
          radiator..

i drove it for about 40 mins after the mechanics and it never blinked

your supposed to do a 50/ 50 mix

water actually keeps your engine cooler, hotter climates can use 70% water / 30% coolant

or even more water, the coolant is for corrosion protection as well as anti freeze, so if its cold outside you need a good amount i think, i have no idea i use mostly water with some coolant about %20 coolant. hawaii 80 degrees here

i know racers will use all water at the track

water doesnt make it run cooler...

water dissapates the heat better in circulating it...coolant protects it from freezing....mixing it you get a higher boiling point but if u have a good radiator cap then it helps as well. so run 50 50

should of checked these things before you left.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

stupid of me to just run off like that

but yeah i ran it like 2 hours ago

after i mixed 50/50 and added brake and steering fluids..and

                    cleaned the engine a bit
                    and it's running great!!!

but still gotta run it more to find out

Keep an eye out for your oil light too. It might or might not blink again. Just a precaution.

                            head gasket

try crackin the oil pan drain plug just enough until fluid starts to com out after sitting overnight.if there is coolant getting in it will come out first PURE CLEAN ANTIFREEZE THEN OIL.I got about a cup of coolant before the oil came out.
