ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Sponsorships are not as easy as you think. You cannot just ask for one with stock(ish) car. You will need a portfolio with past, present and future mods, pics, proposal on what you will do with the car, (ie. shows, commercials, magazine shoots) and what you have done with the car (ie. shows, commercials, magazine shoots)

No sponsor would want to deal with someone who can't communicate properly.

Yep. You have to advertise your car and make it stand out at shows. IF you dont do this then you wont get any. Spelling wouldnt hurt too.

my friend had his 96 civic sponsored, and he said he'll never do it again. Like he just bought and installed an ACT clutch, and then Fidanza sponsored him and made him use their clutch and flywheel, and then he had to take off his lambo doors, and all this shit. So after his contracts I guess, he dropped them and lived happily ever after

Sponsors all have requirements. Reading and UNDERSTANDING the contracts is necessary. Failure to uphold your end of the bargain can result in cancellation at best, and an attempt (eventually involving lawyers) to recover the cost of the parts given.

Nobody says "here are some expensive parts, and a large check... just put a sticker on your car and go to some shows!"

Isn't getting a sponsorship with a cb pretty tough? Unless you plan on doin' some pretty wild stuff to it, you're not gonna reflect too well on the company. And as much as some people want it, none really sponsor for street racers. If you want to start a show car or autoX ride, then maybe you can pique their interest. Either way though, you have to show them that you'll be good advertising to them. That generally means working on a lot of it beforehand just to prove you have good taste (if it's a show car.) Most are pretty wary of young kids who just want the free stuff, especially if they don't know how to spell.

what, you don't spell it sponcer?? ...but yeah he said he'd never do it again, they wouldn't pay for his gas for the long hikes to like PA and NY just for shows. So unless you have A LOT of cash, and a detailed plan, then I would stay far away from those sponsorships

I've gotten sponsorship offers from a few companies... never followed through with any, though. I couldn't dedicate myself to their needs enough to justify it.

It's hard to get sponsored by big companies, especially for performance (easier for show... not as much R&D goes into the products, so the profit margin is usually higher). The best thing to do is try to get sponsored locally. Get Jimmy's Pizza Shack to advertise on your car for an agreed-upon amount... or free pizza
