ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    CD5 Misfire

alright so a 1996 Accord Ex Sedan comes into the shop for a tune up. I could tell the guy babies the car because it looked for the most part that everything is replaced regularly. The accord came in running strong, but after the spark plugs, fuel filter (which was a bitch), dizzy cap and rotor, oil change, pcv valve, and valve cover gasket was changed, we could tell something was not right.

We first checked the spark plugs, they are all gapped to oem standards and looked great. We then checked the plug wires, by grounding them and they all had spark. Fuel injectors are fine, we couldn't find anything wrong with it. We finally plugged the computer in and it turns out cylinder two is misfiring. We have tried everything we can think of, what do you think? Could something have happened while the valve cover was off?

    -thanks

i would just double check everything ....you said it was running fine. i would check cap. rotor, wires, and timing. i dont think you could have messed anything up when you took the valve cover off. check the spark plug tube seals sometimes they leak oil and mess up the plug

check timing, corrosion inside the distributor, even tho its new, i know. thats all i could think of.

well it can't be timing.. that wouldn't just mess up the second cylinder. But I spent all class trouble shooting and I think I narrowed it down to an injector. I think maybe when I replaced the fuel filter, I got a little piece of dirt or something in there and maybe clogged up an injector.. we'll see tomorrow. but if you have any more idea's keep them coming.

That's the only thing i could think of was an Injector, I mean, if it's clogged and no fuel is getting to the sparkplug, that will cause it to misfire, that's what happened to mine, alot of headaches happened to finally figure out what it was....

haha yeah it sucked. we'll see tomorrow what's wrong with it for sure. I'm both excited and dreading it at the same time. The fuel filter was head ache enough.. I'm sure the injectors won't be too much more exciting.
