ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

if you want to slide your car around put a stack of 4 or 5 lunch trays under each back tire lock your ebrake (if you've been sliding on the streets this wont hurt the cable any worse) and go to town. i guarantee you will slide.

I understand... The more you stretch the cable the smaller your slide but the bigger your cable can get. So if I place a wee size cable I can slide into the post man. Correct?

NO, why in gods green earth would you think you could even begin to use the term DRIFT when refering to a heavy slow FWD car like the accord (don't get me wrong, i love my accord, but its not a drift car)

Thank you! Finally someone that understands what drift really is. You cant hold angle for shit with an fwd all you can do is banzai the corner and balance with the ebrake with the car full on throttle. I really see no skill in that. RWD on the other hand there are a shit load of ways to initiate a drift and takes a lot more skill to control. RWD you fuck up its gonna bite you hard, FWD fucks up you got a safety cushion because the rear end doesnt bit you since all the drive is in the front.

exactly drifting cant be done properly with front wheel drive. the point is to aim with the front and spin the rear. if its front wheel drive its just sliding.

You may not like the sport...or understand it...but that doesn't mean folks don't care about their cars...

in fact...it takes a greater appreciation and understanding for one's machine to properly drift...

granted...there are some idiots out there...and they usually do crash...badly...

But I don't think our "gravel junkies" are those folks...that's just fun...you should try it.

and on the rwd fwd...drifting is rwd... fwd drifting is impossible...yes...impossible. This is because drifting involves not only a slide initiated by weight transfer via braking or decel but also a power slide via drive wheels spinning to continue the slide.

The key is the drive wheels spin to continue the slide...you can e-brake to initiate the slide, and you can do this with fwd or rwd, but with fwd you cannot continue the slide by powering through.

Is it hard to do? Yes...does it require skill? Yes...does it require extensive and respect earning car mods...Yes...is it drifting...sorry...nope...ass dragging.

Another key thing...in drifting you wear the sliding tires all around...ass dragging you wear more flat spots...

Now you can drift a motorcycle

but work with what you got I guess...I'd rather drift than ass slide though...IMO

Yes there are "drifting" events with fwd cars and there are fwd vehicles that can ass drag quit well...but it isn't drifting...it's ass dragging.

                              Call it what it is...
