ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    running really rich and surging

Ok, so I've searched this and tried some of the idle problem stuff posted on here, and it hasn't worked. I just swapped an H22a into my 92 accord. When the engine is cold, it surges up to 3500 and bogs down to about 300. I can smell fuel in my exhaust, and I'm popping a 41 code. The car runs ok after it warms up, but even then if i go to WOT the check engine light comes on and the car goes into limp mode. I swapped out my O2 sensor, and checked for vacuum leaks to no avail. Also, the car will not crossover into VTEC. I'm not exactly sure the universal O2 sensor is connected correctly, but I think it's ok. Could this be caused by my mass air flow sensor, or wiring? Please help me out.
If someone could also send a pic of a universal O2 sensor correctly hooked up I'd appreciate it.
    thanks

    what ecu are you using?
could be a related to wiring, possibly messed up a MAP sensor wire (there is no MAF).

the universal bosch sensors aren't worth buying.
"As far as the prog references go, we embrace them. However, we would prefer our new moniker, which is a Mulligan stew of progressive rock, Bulgarian folk metal, rock ’n’ roll, ’80s disco and Christian rap that we like to call Munge." (Maynard James Keenan cited in Boston Herald, 2006)

      Agreed.

The surging can possibly be fixed by cleaning out your IACV, and adjusting the small copper screw on the throttle body. I had the same problem for a while. That fixed it.

As for running rich, that is possibly part of it. I have to look up what code 46 means, but ANY CEL could put your car into limp mode, which would cause it to run as safely as possible when something fails. Rich is safer than lean... though it can do some damage over time as well.

You WILL run rich on a stock P13 for a while... getting a P28 and properly tuning it will bring your gas mileage up considerably. I went from about 23 to about 30 after tuning.

As already mentioned spend the money and buy a honda OEM o2 sensor or some sort of ntk/ngk or denso. If you are throwing a code VTEC WILL NOT WORK. its that easy with a p13 because its anal like that.
