ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Check this out - soooo lucky

I had some noise going on from my intake manifold area about 2 weeks now. Didn't get the chance to take a look at what the issue was.

Started my car up last thursday and noticed a high revving engine all of a sudden, it was like I was on the accelerator till 6500RPM ( my neighbourhood hates me already )

Primary diagnosis was intake manifold gasket was leaking, vacuum loss and the ECU is trying to compensate by dumping more fuel.

Bought a intake manifold gasket and started to dis-assemble with my Mechanic at my house on saturday.

the gasket was the last of my problems. It seemed that the intake air bypass assembly bolt snapped off and the IAB butterfly broke in half ( this is the same type of air intake bypass a GSR or Type R has - opens at 4100RPM for more power and air flow )

I'm lucky it did not end up in the engine

I decided to open the assembly and leave it fully open. I will lose some low end torque by doing so, but just to find this assembly is a real task. Honda wants 491$. Scrappers want to sell me the whole engine for 700-1000$ because without this part the engine does not run. Could not find a blown V6 engine in ontario or quebec.

well because I had to take all of the intake out I decided to do a mild polishing job. Not going to port it because it would take more time. I took off about 2mm of sand casting from the inner runners and TB.

    Before the polishing started

    something is missing -

I will see if I get the time to port it and then re-polish, but if not it's all good I just want my baby back up and running I have plans in the future for ITB setup so I'm not tooo worried
