ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    1. European Domestic Market
    2. Diamond Star Motors
    3. I dont have an H22, and it depends on what you want. searching a couple pages back on the forums or actually "searching" with the search function, will lead you to a VAST amount of knowledge and opinions about swaps.

IMO, the best bang for your buck ( regarding swaps) is an h22 with your f22 tranny. the engine bolts right in, and the tranny bolts right up. a little wiring, and some misc stuff, and you are done.

Some links to get you started....

    Commonly used acronyms

    Swaps

    That should get you started

IMO i would tell you to keep your f22a and either boost it or put a shot of nitrous on it. youll spend alot less money and will still have money left over to work on your suspension, exterior and interior.

          "especially found in Mitsubishi Eclipses"?

Diamond Star Motors was a pseudo-company created by Chrysler and Misubishi. Together, they produced the Talon, Laser, Eclipse, 3000 GT, and Stealth in the early and mid-90s. The first three are pretty much identical. The last two are pretty much identical. The low-end models were powered by Chrysler motors, the higher end models by Mitsubishi. People often refer to the Galant VR4 as a DSM, but it really isn't... Later models of the Eclipse were not DSMs. No Chrysler input.

the "DSM turbo kit" that you've likely seen mention of uses parts from the 4G63t found in the Eclipse, Talon, Laser, Galant VR4, and early Lancer Evolution models.

The "best" swap for your CB7 depends on your needs and wants. The H22 is expensive, but direct. It's easy, makes good power, and there are plenty around. However, they are very expensive to modify beyond a certain point. You can make more power for half the price with a DSM turbo kit on an F22.
Other SOHC F22 engines are crap. The F22A is probably the best SOHC motor you can get for the CB7.
The F22B DOHC is a good choice for less money than the H22. It is very similar to the H23 in terms of power and price... The H23 is good as well, but has some of the same limitations of the H22 in terms of modification.

If you can get a K swap to work, you will be worshipped. There are no mounts for it, and unlike the H and F series, it will not go right in. Find a way to make it work, and you could become quite wealthy by selling reproductions of your mounts.
