ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    crazy rpm tach

okay, last night i was cruising on the highway after work. the speed limit switched from 60 to 70, i canceled the cruise control to speed up to the normal 75 i always do. normally, the rpm tach is at around 2400-2500, then it goes up to around 3000-3500 @ 70-75 mph. well, last night, it went crazy and spiked up to 4500 @ 75 mph while on cruise control. i cancel the CC so it wouldnt bother the other drivers and do about 70. all is good, back to its normal rpm. i resume the CC and the shit goes back to 4500, i'm not going anywhere fast but it's just screaming. i just cancel the CC altogether and use my foot. rpm doesnt change until i release the gas petal. i know the higher the rpm, the more gas its using. and gas isnt cheap. so help plz. thanks!

    Auto or Manual Tranny?

And when the RPM goes up on the Tach, can you hear the engine rev with it? (trying to figure out if just your tach is just giving a misreading or not).

So far from what you've said, I'm guessing you have an automatic, and your overdrive is malfunctioning for some reason.

i'd check to see if there is any worn wires obvious nearby the cruise control. if not, what about a dirty oxygen sensor?? i had one go bad about a yr. ago. good luck!
