ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    H23/F22 Horsepower

I was wondering about the H23 head/F22a6 block frank. What type of horsepower can one expect from it? Is the horsepower gain really significant? I was just checking cuz I was thinking about doing it but if the gains ain't even that much then I'm gonna go head and save up some more chips for F22b DOHC or H22 full swap.

well youll be having a head that normally would be on 10.1 on a 8.5.1 block and im sure the gains wouldnt be worth it stick it out keep savin and get the full swap h22 is alright stock but youll get it and need more!!!good luck man keep posted on what you do and do the h22 more torque...

in all honesty, the H22 doesnt have THAT much more torque than the F22a series.

but for the OP, check out the members ride threads for people who have done the frankenstein swap and ask them what they think, was it worth it....etc.

then you can decide for yourself if you want to do it or not.

true torque is what makes the ride enjoyable!

i've heard guys switch from street bikes to chopper style bikes because of the torque!

There's really no reason to make a frank engine, unless you're just trying to be different. Reliability is seriously compromised in most cases (especially for those that aren't experienced), and the power gains aren't all that significant. The H23 makes 20hp more than the f22A6 with .1L more displacement and 1.5 points more compression... Factor that in, and you'll find that the H23 head on the f22a block won't give you much horsepower. If you make 150 at the crank, I'd be impressed. For all the costs involved (h23 head, all gaskets, fluids, belts, ecu if you wanted...) you could afford something that made better power for the F22A... perhaps a Bisimoto header. That header, along with a decent intake and exhaust, would probably make about 160 crank hp from the f22a.

i actually like the powergain and the range rpulled alll the way past 6000. just that i was smoking because of headgasket issues. all my friend's drove it with the headswap and now back with a stock f22 and they said that there was a pretty big difference.

mind you this is a f22a6 with intake and exhaust compared to a h23 headswap, chipped p06, h23 manifold, DC sports header and a lot of bolt ons.

trust me, there was a good difference and it feels so much better to have your power come on at 3k instead of when vtec hits. so from that, you can understand where i get my opinion with vtec motors.
