Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    motor mount

    ok i drive a 92 accord 4speed auto and when it goes to shift in 2nd or 3rd it makes the engine shake is it a motor mount and is it the front stunt mount?feels like the car shifts really hard...

    front and rear are the main suspects. Could be the sides are bad as well..

      i no the front is bad for sure...but aint the back...eletronic?

        back is hydraulic. the new cars now are electronic/hydrauliic.
        most likely the trans is going out.
        The beginning of a new era............................

          so u think my tran's is going out?its done the same on my old car...even after i changed my tranny on that car...i figured its just a motor mount....car shifts fine just shakes after shift

            Oh, my bad, I misread it. does it only shake when you give it gas??

              The mount closest to the firewall on an automatic is vacuum operated it basically dampens the vibration you feel through the engine and trans especially at idle at cold start. It should really not affect while driving. I would inspect yourr other mounts and axles. Another way you can narrow it down to see if your trans is bad is to shift it manually see if it shifts differently on my auto if I shift it manually it shifts alot smoother than if I let it shift by itself. So I know my trans is on its last leg
              I need a 14b or 16g turbo!

                it shifts smooth but like right after, the motor rocks ,inless i let of the gas before it shifts it helps or pervents it from shifting hard or w/e ,the motor rocking back and forth it done the same thing on my old 90 accord even when i had a new tranny

                  I would just check the mounts by grabbing a crow bar or pry bar and move them if they are moving excessively even though they look good they just might be mushy. Also does the engine move alot when shifting from park to reverse or into drive and again check those axles one could be binding
                  I need a 14b or 16g turbo!

                    i did all new axles and sloted rotors and bearings couple months ago but i no its hard to go from park to reverse and back to park but yea motor does rock lil...

                      my motor mount dose the same thing and i have to lut off the gass to lut it shift easy!!! but i have a Q. umm when changing the mount and unpluging the house toi the vacum.. is there anything i should do to it befor i unplug and remove it ..or can i just take it off and swop it out?? i dont wanna ruin anything!!! moneys tight you know!!

                        When I suspected that one of my motor mounts went bad, it would shake really bad when I put it in reverse. It was the front motor mount, the rubber busted up, but a trip to the local junkyard for a $6 replacement solved that.

                          yeah i alredy replaced that moune..its just the rear mount i have left to do.. and i waz just consernd that if i just unplug the vacum toobing it would mess somthing up..but that just me being safe.. dont wanna runin the mount i got ..cuz i got that one bran new 9its the most important mount there) so i had to ..lol also ..dose anyone know the easy'et way to chang that mount ..do i have to go from under the car or can i simply do it from the top?
