ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    A Couple of Questions

I have searched but did not find the answers I needed, even though there are threads on both.

Well my first question involves my brakes. Every time I go to stop my brake pedal almost hits the floor. But after holding it down for a little while it is just fine, like I'm bleeding the brakes almost every time I go to stop. I'm thinking I may have a hole in the brake lines somewhere or the master brake cylinder is on its way out.

My second question involves my front end, it shakes at random. Like I said, I have read the post, but unlike him I don't know where to start checking stuff. I know to check for loose bolts but that's about it, but I don't know which ones. Thanks in advanced.

    1. Might want to check your master cylinder, rotors, pads, and lines.

    2. Make sure your wheels are properly aligned and balanced. Check out your suspension components... Ball joints, Bushings, Axles etc.

As far as the brake fluid goin all the way down, u may need to ADD fluid so dont get so worried about broken lines but for now jus check the fluid level. our cars are old. it would b good 2 upgrade ur brake lines and bleed brakes eventually

Okay, I think I have figured out the suspension. But how do I check to see if my master cylinder is going bad?

I bet it's your master cylinder trying to go out. It will work still but it's risky runnin on a going-out master cylinder. If your fluid is always empty , check for leaks on your braking system.

My fluid is at the max mark and I did not have to fill it. And what's an average price for a new master cylinder?

well i had this problem too when o got my car it was air in the line bleed ur master and than bleed ur brakes and always use new brake fluid

if u didn't know brake fluid absorb moisture out of the air so better to use a new can

just because his pedal travels to the floor doesnt mean his master cylinder is going out, although its a good chance.

if his car is a DX/LX it can most certainly ALSO be his rear brake cylinders are leaky, which can cause the same symptoms.

That's what I think it is too, but also check you power break booster as well cause those are a non-fluid pressurized system. I think they might be a vacuum system not sure.

Not really. Pedal travel will be further but it wont sink all the way down unless it is REALLY bad lol. I mean like shooting fluid out of the thing haha. My old EX had one bad wheel cylinder and all that did was compromise my braking just a bit lol. Pedal traveled further took a lil longer to stop.
