good deal?

I found a place with a JDM H22A with VTEC out of a 92 to 95 Prelude. Would this be the engine to get for the H22 swap? The told me 750 for the engine alone with all the things like starter power steering pump manifold injectors etc. and 1690 with tranny (duno bout lsd) and that includes ecu.

I'm just starting to look around, have a couple of friends who have done this kinda stuff before to help me, but would this be the motor to drop onto the old F22 tranny and everything that would bolt up?

yea the h22 will bolt up to ur f tranny....and 750 is pretty damn cheap....but i say u get the motor and the h22tranny together.....save a lil more and just getta lsd.

That was the cheapest i could find anyways, but im still wondering about saving the extra money and getting the LSD Vtec tranny? would it be worth it in the long run or just say screw it i want the H22

Buy the whole thing for 1690...thats a pretty good price. Just make sure before you do to do a compression test

idk why almost a grand more for the tranny even if its lsd . though 17 hundo for a complete h22 w/ lsd tranny its a GREAT price. wish i found it soo cheap.

id be carefull though: "if its too good to be true then it probably is" well thats the saying anyhow.

That's Canadian as well... Convert to US dollars and it's even cheaper! 1800 USD for the motor, trans, and ecu is a fair price, so considering you're spending far less, it's a good deal.

Make sure the shop is reputable, though. Just because it's cheap doesn't mean it's good. It might be broken. It might have 200,000 miles on it. I bought my motor from hmotorsonline, and I wouldn't go anywhere else. They aren't the cheapest, but I KNOW I'm getting a good motor, and that's worth the money. I'd rather spend $300 more than the competition, and know that I won't be pulling the motor back out, shipping it back, and threatening legal action if I don't get a good one ASAP!

Thing is, it looks like a great deal to everyone who's thinking of what it'd cost to do the swap for their car, and that's definitely the motor you'd wanna drop into ur accord, but you're going to want to be very careful, you don't know what shape the engine or tranny are in, and you don't wanna spend 1600 or w/e u said it was for a shit motor and tranny, even if it is faster than ur f, if it craps out on you, it's not worth it.

Question bout the swap itself...

The exhaust system... where the down pipe meets the cat, what kind of flange is on the down pipe? cause iknow the EXR's are diff then the LX/SE/whatever else... and what about the header's for the H22's? what kind of flange do they have... will i need a new cat?
