Hi everyone,
New here, so I guess I'll give myself a brief introduction....19 year old college student studying engineering, just got a nice 91 Accord with a 5 speed and 168k miles. The cars in very good condition for it's age, with almost no rust for a 16 year old Buffalo car. Anyways, on to my question.
From the time I got the car, the A/C fan motor always whirred a little when I turned it on, but it still worked. The last time I used it was probably about a week ago, when it made the whirring sound as always, but when I went to use it today, after turning everything on, nothing came out of the vents at all. I know the compressor is fine because once I press the A/C button I can feel/hear the engine go under load, but when I turn the fan knob, there's nothing. The fuse is fine which leads me to believe that the motor, along with it's whirring noises, is dead. Has anyone here replaced the fan before? How (in)accesible is it? I'm fairly mechanically competent, but I don't really feel like tearing my dash apart to get at it...also, if anybody has a general cost for the motor so I know what the expect when I go to buy one. I just need to fix this before winter hits, otherwise I'm screwed Thanks for the help, and sorry for the long first post
