ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    auto tranny tcu compatibility question

    okay question:

i've been using the f22a tcu for 3 different h22a tranny's they all have been the same grrind sound. could this be because of the tcu? or because i have installed the axles incorrectly. they are about 1 or 2 cm gap between metal to metal. (the axle metal to the tranny metal). has anyone successfuly used the accord's f22a tcu for the h22a swap? thanks.

yes a lot of people use the f22a tcu with out any problems, do you use the correct fluid for the tranny and is filled with the right amount of fluid? also are you reusing the same torque converter for all of the trannys you used?

The TCU will only determine the shift points. Any grinding is most likely a totally different issue.

this is my second transmission, the one that came with swap was bad, the one they sent me was bad, and the one i purchased locally was also bad. i checked the fluid before i put the transmission in it was clean... could it be because of bad axle install? the stupid grind crap? thanks. and also, yes i have dextron mercon 3 inside of it, and the fluid is just a hair over maximum... should i drain it out some more? thanks.

doesnt sound like a grind when you dont push in the clutch in the manual, kind of like a metal to metal grind. above 3k rpms...

you sure you have the axles in all the way? there should only be a mm gap between the axle and the tranny

a mm is pretty tiny.... maybe i dont have them all the way in? is there a way to push them in without having to separate the ball joint again? or do i have to take out the ball joint again /sigh.
