ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    A Couple of Transmission Questions

I don't know if it makes a difference but here is some basic info: I have a '91 DX with an auto transmission and a stock f22a1 with 201,xxx miles on it. As far as I know both the engine and transmission are stock.
Now that is out of the way, sometimes it is difficult to get it out of park, and sometimes it when it shifts into drive, it kind of jumps. Again, both of these problems only happen sometimes, but when they do show up, they stick around for about a week or so. Any ideas, is the transmission going out, or do I just need to replace the fluid? Thanks in advanced for reading.

When it shifts into drive and jump , the culprits are your motor mounts.

I don't remember the answer for this "and sometimes it when it shifts into drive".. but i'll find an answer.

It very much could be the motor mounts. It can also be your transmission is slipping, and it's time for a new tranny. Yea when it's hard taking it out of park, that mean you need a new shift cable.

I think I'll be doing it next weekend, it gets really annoying

hehehe , it's liek being kicked int he butt.. I mamaged to replace my front motor mount 1 month ago , it was hard because a 14 year old bolt which is untouchec can be a PITA, and yes that the rear gets messed up first. Mne is too

anyway to the person who created the thread, about the shift diffculty it might happen that the release on the tranny which is related to the brake switch might be your problem. Mine was it and it might be the same thing as your's.

if you hear a loud Clunk or thud or something that is a metal to metal contact, then it is for SURE your motor mounts. When i first bought my car back in 03' that sound was really prevalent whenever i shifted from park to drive or from park to reverse or neutral to drive/reverse. And the Rear motor mount is the pain in the ass one like someone said. It is also the most expensive since it is hydrolically actuated. Mine is due for one too.

For those of you who have changed the rear motor mount, do you remember how much it cost?

Its a small shop located here in LA not well known. Its call "Tristar Auto parts" I got the front and back motor mount... Its cheap because they rebuilt the parts... my distribuitor is rebuilt too got there for $120.
