ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    speedometer problems= check engine light???

i have a speedometer problem and i know i need to get a new electronic reader for it but along with that. my check engine light comes on as well. but like 5-10 mins after startup and whenever i stop it comes on but that may be because my steering wheel shakes when i come to a stop. any idea on what the matter is?

For your speedo its the VSS.

For your steering wheel shake , it's probably your brake rotors.

For your CEL porbably a ground problem? Coz it goes on when you brake?

I can barely understand what you're saying...

I have no clue what you mean for the spedometer. Do you need a new Vehicle Speed Sensor?

If the Check Engine Light comes on, you need to jump the service connector under the dash to get a code. With the car off find the blue plug under the dash on the passenger side. Use a plain metal paperclip (nothing with a plastic coating), infolded to make a U shape, to "jump" the connector. Basically, stick each end of the paperclip into a hole. Then turn the key to the "on" position, right before the engine start. Now watch the Check Engine Light (CEL). It should start to flash a code. Long flashes are 10s, short flashes are 1s, and long pauses are breaks. Write down the codes until they begin to repeat. There is a list of CEL codes available on here once you know what it's saying.

The shaking when you come to a stop means that your rotors are warped. They may be able to be fixed, but a replacement is likely needed. This has nothing to do with your check engine light.

          thanks!

i appreciate it. my friend told me that it may be warped rotors but i didnt take her word for it because she said she never owned a vehicle that shook at the steering wheel. once again thanks and have a good rest of yalls day.
