ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Antenna Noise

Whenever I turn on or off my radio the antenna makes a grinding noise from rising up and lowering. Anyway to get this fix? Or to I simply have to get a new antenna? TIA!!

Do you think think wd 40 or some type of lube would help it?

If WD-40 doesnt help, you more than likely need to replace the motor/mechanism. Some ppl shave it and put it elsewhere, or in my case, i just pulled the old one off and replaced it with one of those lil black rubber "stubby's"

Well i was going to recommend the S2k antenna cuz i did a DIY on it and its been great ever since...

mine did get stolen once, but shit happens i guess.

If the WD40 doesnt work it could also be your mast as well as the motor.

werd!! i think it's the motor or something... it sounds so bad just starting it up and turning it off... it makes me not want to listen to the radio anymore.

its the motor definitely. power antennas always eff up like that. what I did was pull the plug that gave the antenna power to go up and down, so now its up all the time. Its like a white plug which you can't just pull out. Theres a clip on a plug where you gotta lift in order to get it to disconnect. The entire assembly is under the antenna, obviously.

My gone too,i already looked for mast, motor rusted.Do u need to reloc some ground if i disconnect motor plug?Cause i have some bad interférences.

But,for my,bad sound mostly come out from rear speaker. The little material who stick metal and cartoon scoope was dryed and dusted out,so speaker was floated.I used this white little protector u find when u buy play-station2 or electronic. That a lot better,u just need soft glue and exacto.

                        Hi all
