ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    question bout axels

should i purchase new axels from honda or should i just get some from the salvage yard... im having clicking problems with mines. i just dont want to waste time getting some from the salvage yard and next thing i know it starts doing the samething i got, but then again it is cheaper to get axels from the salvage yard instead of honda... any suggestions anyone?

you could always find a shop that rebuilds them. i thought i saw one around the corner from where you work. just turn left at the UDF and the shop should be on the right up ahead.

although if i could get OEM parts for a midly decent price then i'd just do it for peace of mind.

Get the refurbed ones from autozone. They're cheap and they have lifetime warranty. Anytime the ones from autozone break, they replace you with a new set all the time. Go for it.

if you have the money get the honda ones. pulling from a junkyard you may have someone elses problems again. also, there is a company called empi that make brand new axles (not cores).check it out they are cheaper than honda oem.

Get em from your local auto parts store. They usually have some kind of warranty.

I've used quite a few of those and they're holding up fine. Honda is too expensive.

                  Honda is the best.
Autozone and NAPA are decent. I've beat the piss out of NAPA remans for years with about 180whp with no problems. My newest one is an Autozone axle (not axel...) and so far so good.

Getting a junkyard replacement is only good if you NEED something, and can't afford the $75 from Autozone. You could go through 3 junkyard pieces in the time it would take for one Autozone one to give.

Check this and this. I've done some checking on the company and they seem good. They're new (axles not company) and say that they are high speed balanced. I put in my order this morning so I guess I can be the guinea pig.

Go to the dealer...A little bit more then what you wanna spend but go for it. Better to have something new then to have some thing old.

no matter wut, your going to pay between $75-$120 for them. I got pro's and con's about going to the junk yard though. I had the same problem with my 95 Accord lx. The boot was torn in half and I had to replace it. It is easy if you've done it before. If you haven't, you'll need someone to do it for you. If you got an "impact" and the right size of sockets its all good from there.
