Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

Anyway , the pulley of the compressor will have like a triangular image ont he pulley. It will surele say Denso or something then the word compressor.
It's close to the crank pulley. Right below the power steering system I think.

You need gauges to properly see whats up. Or you can be ghetto get something and push down the schrader valve and see if anything shoots out. YOu could be just low on freon which would indicate a leak there are a lot of options for this.

alright. thanks for the quick replies everyone. so i'll check where the compressor's located which is below the alternator basically. then check if there's any leaks near there. then check the fuse box to see if there's a blown fuse. hopefully, this will clear things up w/o having to get a new unit.
okay, so i checked. everything seems to be okay. SEEMS. i have no idea how to check for leaks... as for the blown fuse. i haven't checked yet. how much does a whole unit replacement cost if i were to get it done?Last edited by zero2sixtyr35; 05-23-2007, 06:22 PM.

okay so i found the leak. the tube or piping that goes from the a/c unit compressor below the alternator to the other side of the engine bay behind the radiator has a big gash on it. shouldn't that tube be made out of rubber instead of the foil looking tube wrapped with some bandages looking thing?? anyway, how much would it cost you to just replace that tubing? my friend who works at the tech from honda told me i have to bring that to an a/c specialist because i wouldn't want to get frost bite if that thing leaks onto my body or face!

i would just take it off so you can have some free hp. LOL! it could be that the condesor is rotted and leaking. i replaced my radiator last year and found out that the condesor was rotted and took it out. now i just need to take the compressor off so the engine isnt wasting hp to turn it for no reason.OHIO CB7's

The only thing you are turning is the pulley, it won't run the actual compressor unless you have refrigerant in the lines, and have the A/C on inside the car. Only reason to remove it would be weight savings.Originally posted by sweet91accordif aredy time i need to put something in cb7tuner. you guy need to me a smart ass about and bust on my spelling, gramar and shit like that in so sorry.

that should be the discharge line i think. mine was leaking r12 out one of the ends and had to be replaced. It cost me about a 100 bucks at the dealer and then i took it to get fixed at my mechanic. But lately my a/c feels lilke its not getting as cold as it could be. I had it recharged but its still not ICE cold like r12 should be. idk how to test to see if a compressor is operating at its peak effienciency but i think thats my prob. right now since its 14 yrs old i might have to get that replaced.
