ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

according to the thread that TypeG posted, the culprit was the main relay that needed replacement. Here's a DIY from the cb7wiki on how to replace it.

Why would a main relay drain a battery....That doesnt make sense if it was on the whole time your motor would be full of fuel. Anyway have you hooked up anything? System? or anything electrical recently?

It didn't make sense to me either but according to the guy who orginally posted the thread, he said that it was the main relay. My first guess and only guess would be alternator, but if its new then...

Actually now that I think of it your pump would stay primed it wouldnt flood the cylinders unlike a civic where the main relay controls the injectors also.

no system took that out.... so the main relay would drain it?? also when the battery is loosing its charge and im driving the car tends to buck as if to turn off do to power loss. I really need to know if changing that relay will do the trick.. im not a noob just not a full mechanic i know alot just cant fig out this??

Changing the relay wont do anything. Do you lose power overnight or immediately? Did you tape everything off that had bare metal on the wires off when you take out the system? I would check those wires first.

Have you waited around to see of your fans come on? The fan sensor (forget actual name) was busted to the cooling fans would come on and stay on even if the car was off all day. Oddly enough it they would start around 11 or so at night and go until the battery was dead.

you should try testing ur car for parasitic drain you gonna need a multimeter to do that and if ur result is more than 1 or 2 amps then something is grounded in ur car that causes ur battery to drain
